Services

Brief details of services available to residents are given below. Further information, should you require it, can be found in our A-Z Brochures for each home. Contact us for your brochure at admin@gmas.care or call us on 01475 729424.

Activities

We have a great team of dedicated activities staff who arranges daily entertainment and activities in consultation with our residents.
Typical activities are reminiscence, carpet bowls, games, discussion groups, gentle exercise, music workshops, art and craft classes, media studies, concert parties and special outings.

Complimentary Therapies

Our highly trained in-house therapists offer a range of complimentary therapies at no extra charge. These include aromatherapy, massage, manicures etc.

We also have our own in-house Physiotherapist. Carolyn, puts everyone through their paces with exercises and movements tailored specifically to the abilities of each and every resident.

Doctor

If you have lived locally and are registered with a local GP, you will wish to remain with your own doctor.

If, however, you wish or need to change your GP, we can arrange this for you because we are involved with all the health centres in the area.

Hairdressing

A hairdressing service is available in both homes in the Hairdressing Salon by appointment.

A small charge is made for this service.

Mini Bus

A mini bus, which is suitable for wheelchair users is available to the Society for the benefit of residents courtesy of an agreement with Inverclyde Voluntary Council of Social Services.

House Committee

Our Care Conveners and House Committees were established to visit residents and provide them with a range of social activities. The “Home Visiting” program allows residents to speak with committee members and share their feedback, suggestions and concerns. The committee members work closely with the Head of Care and the House Manager to ensure that the residents are comfortable and their well-being is prioritised. One of the crucial roles of the House Committee is to serve as an impartial advocate for each resident. Additionally, Glenfield maintains an “Amenity Fund” that is supported through various fundraising events.

Spiritual Care

All faiths and beliefs are supported and respected within both Bagatelle and Glenfield Care Homes.

Church services take place on a regular basis and Ministers/Priests and church visitors have always been welcomed.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many of our residents enjoyed online services as well as pre-recorded services from their local Church/Chapel which brought much comfort and joy. Though we have now fully returned to in-house services from time to time, online services are still very much enjoyed.
